Girls’ Hifzul Qur’an School: A Journey of Dedication and Divine Purpose
The Girls’ Hifzul Qur’ān School Canada was established in 2013 under the guidance and leadership of ‘Aisha Academy Canada, with a clear vision to nurture the spiritual and academic growth of young Ahmadi Muslim girls. Founded on the principles of discipline, devotion, and excellence, the school was created to provide a structured and supportive environment for students to memorize the Holy Qur’ān.
This program is not just about spiritual growth; it reflects the unwavering commitment of every student and their family. Choosing to dedicate themselves fully to memorizing the Holy Qur’ān, students embrace the profound sacrifice of stepping away from conventional schooling to focus entirely on their religious and intellectual development. The level of dedication they show—marked by discipline, perseverance, and a deep love for the Word of God—is truly remarkable. To support these students in continuing their academic journey, ‘Aisha Academy offers curriculum classes aligned with Ontario’s educational guidelines, ensuring they maintain intellectual growth alongside their spiritual development.
As the school grew, so did its support systems. Under the strategic direction of the Aisha Academy Board, several key initiatives were introduced, including the Brainy Bees Program—designed to support the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of students. The Board also launched parental support services such as educational webinars, one-on-one counseling sessions, and monthly meetings with mothers, fostering a strong sense of community and collaboration between the school and families.
Over the years, the school has celebrated many milestones, including school events, the introduction of the Ayesha Scholarship for outstanding Hafizat, and continued enhancements to student support services.
In 2024, to accommodate Ahmadi girls who attend mainstream schools, the Board introduced short Hifz courses for girls aged 7 to 16. These evening programs are designed with a no-homework policy, making them ideal for busy families while still offering the opportunity to connect with the Holy Qur’an and the teachings of Islam and Ahmadiyyat.
In September 2024, Aisha Academy launched the Holy Qur’an Nazirah Program as part of its continued efforts to expand accessible Qur’anic education across Canada. This initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Department of Ta‘līm and the Department of Ta‘līmul Qur’ān & Waqf ‘Ārḍi. The course is designed to support Ahmadi Muslim women and young boys who are at any stage of their Qur’anic recitation journey—whether beginning for the first time or seeking to complete a previous attempt. Reflecting Aisha Academy’s commitment to inclusivity and lifelong learning, the program is open to students of all ages, available to women and girls nationwide, and welcomes boys up to the age of 10. Delivered entirely online, the Nazirah Course offers a flexible and accessible platform for individuals and families to strengthen their connection with the Holy Qur’an. This initiative exemplifies Aisha Academy’s ongoing commitment to accessible, high-quality religious education for the wider community.
Today, GHQS Canada stands as a beacon of excellence in Qur’anic education—dedicated to nurturing confident, spiritually grounded, and academically capable young Ahmadi women who are equipped to serve faith and society.
